Why isn’t it all free?
Most of BiteDeck runs entirely on your phone, so it costs us nothing to give away — and we do. The four AI features are different: photo scan, the Coach, Plate Check, and voice logging each call an AI model that bills us every time you use it. Charging for those is what keeps the rest of the app free, ad-free, and free of any incentive to monetize your attention or your data. That is the whole deal: you pay for the genuinely expensive part, and we never sell you out.

Are there really no ads?
None. There are no ads in the free tier or in Premium — ever. It is a core commitment, not a limited-time promotion.
What do I get for free?
Everything except the four AI features: logging, food search, barcode and nutrition-label scanning, Apple Health sync, fasting, weight tracking and forecasting, body composition, widgets, the Apple Watch app, and CSV/PDF export — all with no account.
Why are the AI features the paid part?
Photo scan, the Coach, Plate Check, and voice logging run on AI models that cost real money every time you use them. Charging for those is exactly what lets the rest of the app stay free, with no ads and without selling your data.

Do I need an account?
